Early intervention

Early years learning challenges can appear in many forms—from language development and social interaction to fine motor skills or focus. At Woods, we are committed to early intervention, using personalised strategies to meet these needs as they emerge. Whether through one-on-one support, small group activities, or thoughtful adaptations to our forest and classroom environments, we ensure our teaching is as flexible as the children are unique.

We work hand-in-hand with families to create a consistent, supportive path, providing every child with the tools they need to build confidence and thrive throughout their early learning journey.

Learning support strategy

At Woods, we believe every child deserves a tailored path to success. While we do not have a dedicated on-site learning support teacher, we take a proactive approach by liaising with a vast network of external advisors and specialists. This partnership provides our teaching team with expert guidance and ensures we are equipped to support various learning styles as they emerge.

By working closely with parents and external professionals, we help develop personalised strategies that build on each child’s unique strengths. Integrating this expertise into our daily forest and classroom activities ensures that every child’s journey at Woods is positive, inclusive, and successful.

Special needs

We embrace the diversity of all learners, including those with specialised needs ranging from dyslexia and dyspraxia to neurodivergence. Because every child’s path is unique, we are committed to providing a supportive environment that adapts to them.

When a child requires extra care, we work hand-in-hand with parents and our team to assess their specific requirements. Together, we explore the best options for full integration—whether that involves dedicated learning support, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or other expert interventions. Our goal is to ensure that every child can participate fully and thrive within our vibrant learning community.
